Working in the roofing trade since 2004, the greatest satisfaction has always come from helping local homeowners protect their most valuable asset against the harsh elements. Living in Waimauku and regularly surfing the breaks of the West Coast, the wild black sands are both home and inspiration. Black Sands Roofing was founded to focus solely on dependable, tailored solutions that stand up to the toughest NZ weather.
Trade qualified with two decades of hands-on mastery
Beginning in the roofing industry in 2004, our founder earned the New Zealand Roofing Certificate in 2006 and later achieved Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) status in metal roofing. With a unique background that includes a fine arts degree, practical craftsmanship is elevated by an eye for clean aesthetic detail. In addition to extensive on-site experience with membrane systems over the years, qualifications include the official Ardex membrane installers certificate completed in 2025.
